Janet Groene

ReserveAmerica Contributor

Janet Groene is a contributor for ReserveAmerica.com. Camping and all the skills of "making do" quickly became fun for young Janet Groene, whose father was a Boy Scout leader. It wasn't a hardship to sleep on the ground or create a makeshift reflector oven; it was a challenge with a feel-good result.

Later in life, Janet said an enthusiastic “yes” when her husband suggested they get a sailboat and take a sabbatical. For 10 years they lived on the go, sailing the tropics in winter and camping in summer in a 21-foot diesel camper that they still have.

With Janet's writing background and Gordon's eye as a photographer, they were soon making a living with no thought of having to go back to "real life.”

Janet's most recent books include Cooking Aboard Your RV, 2nd Edition and Living Aboard Your RV, 4th Edition. In addition, her columns appear in many magazines including Family Motor Coaching and Houseboat.

She shares awards for travel writing, boating and RV journalism and blogging with her husband. They currently live on the Suwannee River in North Florida.
