The summer youth flex league is designed to offer the youth of Avery Ranch the opportunity to compete in a league without having to adhere to a set schedule. This allows for families to take vacations, kids to participate in other summer time camps, or for kids to simply have some down time. This league is singles only. League divisions will consist of kids who are the same age and/or skill level. Each league division will be capped at 8 kids per division. Each player will play the remaining players two times, i.e. your child will play a total of 16 matches over the course of the summer. Who Can Play? 10U Tennis - One division will be created for 9-10 Year Olds; players must know how to serve, keep score and rally points. Open to the first 8 players. Players must be approved by Director and Head Pro, Jayne Clark. Future Stars – Two divisions consisting of beginner (must be approved by Jayne Clark) and intermediate. Open to the first 8 players for both beginner and intermediate. High Performance – One division open to the first 8 players. How Does It Work? Once divisions are created we will hold a parent/player meeting. At that time, each player and parent will receive a roster of who is in the league. The roster will contain contact information for each parent and player. We will also go over details about the scoring format, how to report scores, each player will receive tennis balls, and other important information. Throughout the summer, parents will be responsible for contacting the other parents, within their appropriate division, to set up matches according to the convenience of each other’s schedule. Essentially, ARTC does not have a preference on when matches are played except that they are all completed between June 8th – August 17th. Please bring your calendars to this meeting as it may be possible to begin the scheduling process at that time. NOTE: MUST BE A RESIDENT OF AVERY RANCH HOA TO PARTICIPATE.
