TRI for MIKE!Join us for the second inaugural combination of Bike for Mike + Metea Life Run = Tri for Mike! Our family-friendly and fun "tri"-athlon course starts at Metea Valley and takes you on a 10 bike ride along the Prairie Path and back. When you get back to Metea Valley, get ready for a 5k run across school grounds and through the Concord Valley subdivision. Your finish will be the best swim stage a triathlon can offer: An inflatable slip-and-slide across the finish line in our school stadium.
Bring your family and friends to participate in this fun event to honor the life of former Metea Valley science teacher Mike Wegrzyn and to benefit two charities near and dear to the Wegrzyn's: American Brain Foundation and Girls4Science. You are invited to participate as an individual in all three stages, or sign up as a team to participate as a relay. Yes, and you can choose to complete only the run portion, only the bike portion, all three of the events, or any combination you'd like when you come that morning. The cost for participation is $20, and $5 for children 12 years or younger. All participants will receive a dry-fit running shirt. Kick off the summer right, and Tri for Mike!
