What's Included

Adult/Teen: All Levels This course will provide students with an introduction to the basic operation of digital cameras with controls for aperture and shutter speeds. Participants must bring their digital camera, the manual and download cord to class. They may also bring any equipment they have and don’t know the purpose of or can’t figure out its use. Students will concentrate on improving their photographic image quality covering multiple types of subject matters. Instruction will include information on the function of the camera’s multiple parts, basic composition, and steps needed for quality printing at home or in the lab. (Class will not meet Wednesday, October 26) Student/Instructor ratio: 10 to 1

Description
Housed in historic Ware's Folly (c. 1818) and the Walker-Mackenzie Studio (c. 1909), the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art is proud to offer visual art education opportunities for students of all ages and interests. Quarterly studio classes and workshops are available in a wide range of media, from drawing and painting to photography, weaving, clay, and sculpture, for children, youth, and adults.

As Augusta's only nonprofit contemporary art gallery, each year over 30 exhibitions spotlight regional, national, and international artists in a variety of styles, techniques and media, including ceramics, photography, painting, drawing and printmaking.
