Would you like to have fun, stay active, AND help the animal community, all at once? Sign up for the Pre-Vet Club at UGA's 10th annual Dawg Jog 5K!
Each fall, the members of the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Club at the University of Georgia set out to increase awareness, raise funds, and provide support for a local philanthropy. The club is proud to be sponsoring the G.R.A.C.E Fund for the 2013-2014 school year.
The G.R.A.C.E. (Grace, Rosemary, Athena Canine Emergency) Fund is designed to help clients of the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine Small Animal Teaching Hospital who have demonstrated financial need to help cover the cost of any medical procedure for their dogs. The fund is set up to help dogs that are ill, injured, or require routine care, which their owners cannot afford. The G.R.A.C.E. Fund will pay for preventive care as well as treatment of diseases such as cancer, hip dysplasia, eye and skin diseases, diabetes, arthritis, obesity, and a host of other ailments.
The race will wind throughout the beautiful UGA campus and your (leashed and well-behaved!) canine running companion is invited to join! Prizes will be given to top runners with dogs, as well as top male and female runners in different age groups.
All (human) participants will receive a free event t-shirt at the end of the race!
Donations raised through this event will go directly towards the G.R.A.C.E. fund.
