The "Ohio Sprint Duathlon" is race #1 of the MidEast Multi-Sport Series offering a fun and challenging race high atop the beautiful Alum Creek Dam. Great for both experienced and first time athletes.

Course Description

The Ohio "Sprint" Duathlon begins with a 2.5 mile run that starts high atop the Alum Creek Dam. Runners will enter the transition to begin a 11 mile bike "sprint" that circles the Alum Creek reservoir. The final run is 2.5 miles that includes a 100 step climb up the Alum Creek Dam.

USA Triathlon Sanctioned

This event is fully sanctioned by USA Triathlon. All participants are required to be current members of USA Triathlon or be subject to an additional $10 one day event fee that is included in your registration fee.

(Age Group) (Cruiser) (Relay Team)

Participants can compete in THREE divisions. (Age Group) competition is for anyone wishing to compete unassisted in both the running and the cycling events. (Cruiser) is for larger framed atheletes who weight at least 190lbs/150lbs. (Team) competition has TWO people competing (one runner and one cyclist) Teams can consists of Male/Male, Female/Female, Mixed.

Where is the race

The race will be staged at the Lower Alum Creek Dam in Delaware. From Columbus take route 23 north about 15 miles to the Lewis Center Road exit. Go right at Lewis Center for 4 miles and past the Alum Creek Visitors Center. It's just down the road on the left.

All participants will receive a colorful high quality race shirt, EAS nutritional product, pre-race carbo loading certificate from Buca di Beppo, bike frame number, race number, post race food and beverage.

Race packets include a special "carbo load" certificate from Central Ohio's best "pasta place".

Packet Pick-up (Photo ID required)

You can pick-up your race packet in advance at Tri-Tech Multi-Sport beginning April April 29th.USAT requires that all participants present a photo ID before race packets are issued. Please bring it with you when you go to Tri-Tech or on race day.

Directions to TriTech

From Columbus take I-71 north about 10 miles and exit (left) at Route 161 (Dublin Granville Road). Go about 1/2 mile and go right at Huntley Road. TriTech is in the Wothington Commerce Center at 6185 N Huntley Rd about 1/2 mile on the left. 614-846-1516.

Timing and awards

All athletes will have times electronically recorded for fast and accurate results. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers per division. 16-17, 18-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. Clydesdale: Top 3 Relays

Sanctioning
