Over 520 Chicago Police officers have made the ultimate sacrifice, giving their lives in the line and performance of duty. The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing assistance to the families of our fallen heroes. The event is held at Gold Star Families Park, which honors the brave men and women who dedicated their lives to the protection of the City of Chicago and its visitors.
Everyone who registers online will automatically be assigned a webpage for individual fundraising. Prizes for the top fundraisers, and incentive prizes for certain dollar levels achieved! Visit the fundraising link for more details! Whether you raise an extra $10.00 or $1,000.00, the Memorial Foundation is grateful for your efforts! (FUNDRAISING IS OPTIONAL) Runners and walkers have the option to upgrade to a premium technical t-shirt by fundraising $50.00 by April 15th.

Packet Pickup will be held at the Chicago Police Academy, 1300 w. Jackson from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on May 1st and 2nd. COURTESY PARKING will be available!!!
Goodie bags and T-shirts for all PRE-REGISTERED participants. Optional upgrade to premium technical t. Age-group awards. All children participating in the junior jog receive an award. Refreshments will be provided on the course and post-race. DJ, Post-race massage, raffle and entertainment including Pipes and Drums of the Emerald Society, K9, Forensic, Helicopter, and Mounted Unit demos.
Parking is available at the Soldier Field Waldron Deck, exit Lake Shore Drive at 18th st. and follow the signs.
The USATF certified (IL-05071-JW) chip-timed 5k run, course begins on Museum Campus Drive, heads north along the lakefront path, loops back on the harbor walk, finishing at Gold Star Park. Digital clocks with mile splits will be posted at mile 1, 2, 3 and the finish line. 5k walkers will follow a south-bound out and back course along the lakefront path due to construction on the Museum Campus. Water is provided on the course.
Sorry, due to course limitations, there are NO rollerblades, skateboards, bikes or animals allowed on the course. Those who wish to run with a baby jogger will be allowed to start AFTER all other runners. THESE RUNNERS MUST START IN A SEPERATE CORRAL. This will be STRICTLY ENFORCED! Participants with infants MUST SIGN A WAIVER for them if the child is to accompany them on the course. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
The Girl Scouts will be conducting an ACTIVITIES AREA FOR CHILDREN from 7:30 am until 9:30 AM. Parents who feel their child is not suited for the 3 mile walk or run may check their child into this area and pick them back up in time to do the Junior Jog at 9:30. Take advantage of this opportunity to induldge yourself with a bit of "adult time!" All parents must register and sign a waiver for children that will be in the activities area.
The Junior jog is for participants 12 and under. It will commence at 9:30, look for posted signs. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE REGISTERED BY AN ADULT! NO EXCEPTIONS! All registered participants will be issued a t-shirt and MUST WEAR their RACE BIB. Every child will receive an award/prize. The $10.00 fee provides entry into the 5K walk as well. JUNIOR JOGGERS DO NOT HAVE THE OPTION TO UPGRADE TO A PREMIUM TECHNICAL T-SHIRT.
Everyone that signs up ON-LINE will be entered into a SPECIAL raffle. The winners of this raffle will be chosen by a computer generated program after on-line registration closes.Winner's will be posted in the awards tent on race day. WINNERS MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! Last year's prizes included rooftop Cubs Tickets, Sox tickets, Spa days, Golf packages, $100.00 gift certificates to Gibson's, Stefani's and Topo Gigio.
There will be unique awards for the top 3 male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,65-69, 70 and up.
Race results will be posted on www.cararuns.org as well as www.chicagoaa.com
Don't let the good times end after the race! Join us at STANLEYS 324 S. Racine for the after party. DJ, food, and drink specials to be announced soon! Courtesy parking will be available.

Run To Remember does not offer refunds for ANY reason. Please make sure you can attend on Saturday , May 03, 2008 prior to signing up. If for some reason you need to withdraw, your packet will be available at pick-up.
