The Tour de Lion cycling event is a multi-level riding experience with distances appropriate for amateurs to competitive cyclists. Participants can register for a 10 mile ride up to a 100+ mile ride throughout the scenic landscape of Hanover and all the way to the beautiful views of Tappahannock Virginia.
Start times are TBD at this time. The tour will start and finish at the Food Lion store located at 135 Junction Drive, Ashland, VA 23059. And, NEW this year, a second ride will begin in Tappahannock, ride to Richmond and return to Tappahannock. All participants will be treated to refreshing rest stops throughout the tour and supported by SAG (cycling assistance) volunteers.
*All cyclists must be off the roads by 3:00 PM. Times may be adjusted for weather though we ride rain or shine unless lightning is present. There will be no refunds.
Food Lion, a valued corporate partner of Children?s Miracle Network Hospitals, organizes and hosts this event with the purpose of offering the community a healthy lifestyle opportunity that additionally supports the local children's hospital.
This charity cycling event benefits Children's Miracle Network Hospital, Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR). All net proceeds raised will help support the Pediatric Emergency Room at CHoR.
