You will be required to sign a USA Triathlon waiver, and a Brambleton Kids Tri waiver.
Entrants must be at least 5 years old and no older than 15 years old as of December 31, 2013.
5-8 yr old, 9-11 yr old, & 12-15 yr old. Age classification is based on your age as of December 31, 2013.
All participants must be confident swimmers and able to swim their designated race distance comfortably without stopping.
Participants will be seeded in their age group based on the swim time they entered for 50 meters at registration.
All athletes must have an approved helmet with the chin strap fastened before entering the bike course. Your local bike shop can provide you with assistance to ensure your helmet meets approval.
Bikers must obey all traffic rules/laws and race official instructions. Roads will not be closed to vehicular traffic; a portion of a lane will be cordoned off for bikers. Police and volunteers will be placed in multiple areas to help direct race traffic.
The race must be completed in 2 hours.
Unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds.
If the race or any portion of the race must be cancelled due to weather, unsafe conditions, or any other reason, there will be no refund of registration fees. Race packets and premiums will be distributed at packet pick up.
Packet Pickup - Mandatory on Friday
Packet Pickup will be held on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 from 3:00p.m.- 6:00p.m. at the Brambleton Community Center located at 42645 Regal Wood Dr. Ashburn, VA. Waivers will be done online. Parents must present a photo ID to pick up packet.
No substitutions or registration transfers are allowed. False entry under another person's name is an automatic lifetime ban from the Reston Youth Triathlon and will be reported to USA Triathlon for appropriate USAT action.
Transponder timing provided by Amazing Race Timing will be used to score the race. The system uses the Chronotrack Tri-Tag which is attached to the athlete's ankle and records the exact time a runner crosses the starting line and the finish line, resulting in a net time for each participant.
Medals of participation will be given to all race finishers. Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female in each age group. Athletes are eligible for age group awards when participating in appropriate age group category. Age classification is based on age as of December 31, 2013.

All net proceeds from the race will go to support Special Olympics of Loudoun.
Proceeds from the Brambleton Kids Triathlon will directly benefit the Special Olympics program in Loudoun County. The Special Olympics program has grown greatly over the past four years and relies on fundraising activities throughout the year to support programs such as golfing, basketball, tennis, volleyball, swimming, bowling, softball and more. On September 7, 2013, the Brambleton Community Association will be holding its second annual Brambleton Kid’s Triathlon. The purpose of the event is to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle with the introduction of the fast growing sport of triathlon to our community youth. We hope to promote the Brambleton Community by ensuring a safe, high quality experience for athletes and their families.
