This course is for oil and acrylic painters of all levels. In this class, students will explore a variety of traditions, techniques and styles of painting. Working from the still-life, photos or subject matter of the student?s choice, even examples of paintings by Masters from art history, each 7-week session, students will experiment with a different movement from the history of painting. The student will gain hands-on understanding of terms like indirect and direct painting methods, chiaroscuro, grisaille, divisionism, pop art, and neo-expressionism. With an understanding of a wide range of techniques, students can begin to develop their own voice and style in the painting process. 7 Week fee is $240 and 14 Week fee is $400.
