Greg LeMond Fantasy Camp: A fund-raiser to help legendary coach Eddie B

Imagine riding your bike down the sunny Southern California coast with Greg LeMond ... being coached each day on the finer points of cornering, climbing, and road, criterium and velodrome racing ... staying at a beautiful beachside inn along the Pacific Ocean within walking distance of great restaurants and shops ...

This dream is coming true, and you can be there. It's all possible because Greg and his assistants -- former Olympians Steve Hegg, Harvey Nitz, Ken Carpenter, Wayne Stetina, Roy Knickman, Mark Whitehead, Danny Van Haute, and multi-National Champion Scott Berryman -- have all donated their time to help legendary cycling coach Eddie B, who lost his home in the recent Southern California wildfires.

All the money raised in the camp will help Eddie replace his San Diego-area home, which besides his belongings contained decades' worth of irreplaceable cycling mementos. Throughout his coaching years he has developed and coached some of the world's best riders including LeMond and Lance Armstrong, the only American winners of the Tour de France.

The Greg Lemond Fantasy Camp will be held Feb. 4 - 9, 2004, and will be based at the Tamarack Beach Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.

The camp costs $2,995 per person and includes:

  • Daily rides

  • Complete performance testing ($1,000 value)

  • Skills training

  • Rudy Project helmet and sunglasses ($355 value)

  • Personal photos of you with Greg and the Olympians

  • A special formal dinner honoring the 1984 Olympic Cycling Team, whom Eddie coached

Plus, time will be set aside in the afternoons for a daily storytelling session about their racing careers and memories of training with Eddie.

This camp is designed for cyclists of all levels of ability.
