Join us for the 20th Anniversary of the Marianne Talley Memorial Fun Run; a true cross country course through the picturesque scenery at Talley Vineyards along dirt roads and trails through the vineyards. A commemorative "I Beat the Vintner" T-Shirt will be awarded to those who finish the 5K Fun Run before Vintner Brian Talley. This event is perfect for all runners and active families!
Timing chips are provided for all runners; aid stations on the course; water and fresh fruit provided at the finish. Post-race raffle for all participants. Award ceremony for overall and age group winners immediately following the Youth Mile, including a special 20th Anniversary award for the overall male/female winners for each race.
Marianne was an avid athlete who competed in swimming, running, cycling, and triathlon events most of her life. She was a member of the SLO Roadrunners Running and Triathlon Club, and completed the Ironman Triathlon in 1992. She died suddenly on May 18, 1993, from complications associated with heart arrhythmia.
The Marianne Talley Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1993 to fund scholarships for college-bound athletes from Arroyo Grande High School. The Fun Run was established as an annual fund-raising event in 1994. The run is dedicated to honoring Marianne's memory and to her commitment to health, fitness and exercise.
