Due to our team affiliation with Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, our team has special eligibility requirements. Preference is given to those families that are eligible for membership at the Fort Myer Officers' Club (FMOC). In the case of families who are eligible for the FMOC, they must join FMOC, adhere to FMOC membership regulations, and also purchase the associated “pool membership”. All Federal Government employees, and military members (of rank E7 and above) are eligible to join the FMOC.
Team eligibility rules are as follows:
- Swimmer eligibility is a function of the eligibility of the swimmer's family for membership at the FMOC.
- FMST is allowed to carry a limited number of "FMOC-Ineligible families to participate..."
- FMST must maintain a ratio of 90% FMOC-Member to 10% FMOC-Ineligible.
- The prioritization rule states that "Priority for membership shall be given to swimmers returning from the previous year, and new memberships will be accorded on a "first-come, first-served" basis to swimmers meeting the membership criteria."
Hence, the prioritization order is (1) Member Returning, (2) Ineligible Returning, (3) Member New, (4) Ineligible New.
Active Duty families who are new to the team will be exempt from this prioritization. We ask that Active Duty families that are new to the team contact a member of the FMST Board.
