On Thanksgiving Day the Arlington Turkey Trot begins at 8 a.m. at Christ Church of Arlington (CCA), 3020 N. Pershing Drive (intersection of Pershing and Highland Street, about 1/2 mile South of Clarendon Metro). It provides an opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy a fun, healthy Thanksgiving activity together, and to raise support for three local charities: Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless, Doorways for Women & Families, and the Arlington Food Assistance Center.

We will stuff the starting line near CCA then waddle our way through the Lyon Park and Ashton Heights neighborhoods. Final flaps will once again occur at Lyon Park where we’ll reunite with all the other turkeys for race results and prizes.
The Turkey Trot has been approved by Arlington County, and the Arlington Police Department is working closely with CCA to ensure safety. Police and volunteers will help guide runners/walkers around the turns and divert automobile traffic from the route. Medical personnel will be on call for treatment, if necessary. A water station will be positioned shortly after the 2nd mile marker, and both food and beverages will be available at the end of the route.

Dates & times: Tuesday Nov. 20 (12 p.m. – 8 p.m.); Wednesday Nov. 21 (12 p.m. – 6 p.m.); Thursday Nov. 22 Race Day (6:45 – 7:30 a.m.; bibs til 7:45 am.) Location: Christ Church of Arlington — 3020 N. Pershing Dr at Highland, Arlington, VA (1/2 mile South of Clarendon Metro). T-shirts aren’t guaranteed to those registering after Nov. 1. During race week Nov. 18-22, higher rates apply, registration isn’t guaranteed, and credit cards NOT accepted.
EARLY BIRD — if registered by Nov. 1. T-shirt guaranteed. REGULAR — if registered by Nov. 17. RACE WEEK - after Nov. 17 ($35.00 adult; $20.00 Children 6-17; $5.00 Under 6) and by cash or check (to Arlington Turkey Trot) only race week or day. Total paid may also include an online registration service charge.

The prize ceremony will be held at Lyon Park (414 N. Fillmore Street, Arlington, VA) following the race to recognize the top three male and female finishers overall and the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups. No stroller prizes. The ChronoTrack B-Tag timing device will be used this year to determine finishers’ times.

Timing and Certification
TThe 2012 Arlington Turkey Trot will use ChronoTrack B-Tag timing device. Please read B-Tag instructions for how to wear correctly. Also, the course certified as 5K by USA Track & Field.
