Theory Level 1: Learn to Read Music - Yearlong
Start: Tuesday, September 18, 2012
Arlington , VA 22205
This course begins with music fundamentals and skills, such as reading and singing notes on the staff, singing and clapping rhythms, working on simple music dictation, and understanding simple musical forms. As soon as they are able, students begin to study musical scores in class, which may include pieces they are currently studying or have studied in private lessons.
Please note: Most students enter Theory classes at Level 2. To be placed into Music Theory classes above Level 1 for the first time, all school-aged students should take either the Standard Theory Placement Test or the AP Music Theory Placement Tests that are offered in the Fall and Spring.
