What's Included

Junior High program runs October through April each year. Our program embraces the comprehensive model for our Youth Ministry. This model encourages spiritual development, social interaction, and Christian ministry service. Open gym is from 5:30-7 every Wednesday. Youth meet up here to play basketball and volleyball, eat at the snack bar, do homework, play in the basement (ping pong, pool, foosball, or Wii), play board games or cards, and just visit with friends. At 7 the youth head to small group - 7th grade topics are Altaration (Mass), Jesus, Prayer, and Theology of the Body (part 1). 8th grade topics are Bible, Being Catholic, Church History and Theology of the Body (part 2). There are many service and leadership opportunities throughout the year. A complete set of dates will go out on the Fall Newsletter.

About This Organizer

Our hope at St. Vincent de Paul is to have the opportunity, for many consecutive years, to teach the principles of the Catholic faith in regards to doctrine, morals, and witness.

Our parish embraces the comprehensive model for our children's and youth ministry program. This model encourages spiritual development, social interaction and Christian ministry service. The programs St. Vincent’s provides opportunities in all these areas.

The Religious Education program at St. Vincent’s is a co-operative effort between the Church staff, the parents or guardians, and the children. We are always seeking volunteers willing to share their faith. Please prayerfully consider volunteering in our programs, and let us know by checking the appropriate lines on the registration form or contact the office. We will help you find a place where the stewardship of your talents can best enrich you and serve others.

Education in the faith by the parents should begin in the child’s earliest years. This already happens when family members help one another to grow in faith by the witness of a Christian life in keeping with the Gospel. Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God. The parish is the Eucharistic community and the heart of the liturgical life of Christian families; it is a privileged place for the catechesis of children and parents.  - Catechism of the Catholic Church 2226
