In its debut in May, 2012, this event had just over 150 entrants. Keith Hair (19:37) led the field while Urangoo Matthews was the fastest female in 23:22. Since this was the first time this course had been run, both performances are course records.

The 5K starts at 10 am, and the mile begins at 11 am.
The entry fee is $25, increasing to $30 after April 9th, up to and including race day. The entry fee includes a white cotton t-shirt to the first 300 registrants and a goody bag. The entry fee for the mile is $10 and includes the cotton shirt. For an additional $10, entrants can order a dri-wick shirt instead of the cotton shirt.
Competitive vs Recreational
Entrants have a choice of participating as a competitive or recreational entry. Competitive entrants will be issued a chip, will receive official times and be eligible for awards. Recreational entrants will not receive an official time nor will they be eligible for awards. However, there will be a digital clock at the finish which they can use to time themselves.
Late Registration/Packet Pickup
Late entrants can register and pre-registered runners can pick up their packets at Cozzolino’s Pizza from 5-7 pm on Friday, April 26, or at the Mustang Stadium at MCHS on race day, beginning at 8:30 am. Cozzolino's is located at 2982 Kildaire Farm Road in Cary.
Awards will be given the the first male overall, to the first female overall, and to the top finisher in each of the following age divisions (both sexes): 11 and Under, age 12, age 13, age 14, age 15, age 16, age 17, age 18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-over.
All proceeds benefit MCHS Stampede Club’s efforts to support the athletic program and student athletes at Middle Creek High School.
