The mission of the Sparkle Caps Project is to empower women in treatment for cancer with support, love and personal experiences of cancer survivors; to let women know that in spite of their hair loss, they are HOT CHICKS, that their femininity is not tied to their hair; to help women maintain positive attitudes because that is part of the battle.

100 Days to a Healthy Lifestyle They say it takes 21 days to form a habit. We’re trying help you to form a healthy lifestyle by challenging you to take 1,000,000 steps in 100 days. That’s 10,000 steps per day average. Fitness experts agree that a sedentary lifestyle is a recipe for poor health. So strap on a pedometer and join us wherever you are on May 11, 2013 when we kick off the inaugural A Million Steps in 100 Days Challenge. How it Works: Just the "exercise" of everyday life will probably earn you 5000 steps per day unless you’re in a coma. The rest is up to you. If you’re a nature lover, take long walks outside or take the family on a hike. Explore one of our beautiful state parks. If the climate control of a gym is more your style, then join one. Just start moving. Find a friend to walk with. It always helps you stick to your goal when you work out with a buddy by keeping you accountable. Step 1: Register online (coming soon) or register by mail by downloading and printing the brochure and registration form and sending it in along with your tax deductible check for $30. First 300 to register will receive an event t-shirt. Please share this opportunity with all your friends and family and on all your social networking. You could also print out a few brochures and ask your local gyms to display them for their patrons. Step 2: Purchase a pedometer if you don’t already have one. Step 3: Get moving. Don’t wait for May 11 to get started. Enjoy the mild spring weather by starting to take longer and longer walks every day leading up to the start of the Challenge. Step 4: Beginning May 11, start tracking your daily steps for the next 100 days. Step 5: On August 18, 2013, tally your daily steps and email your results to: firstname.lastname@example.org by midnight on August 19th. Results will be posted @ www.sparklecapsproject.com. Step 6: Enjoy the new you!
