What's Included

Scott's birding courses sell out fast every spring - here's a second chance to get out on a bird walk with Scott this season! As part of the Biothon, Hitchcock's annual spring biodiversity event and fundraiser, Scott's team found 48 birds last year. Can you help the team find even more this year? Come join the fun, enjoy the return of the Valley's migratory birds, and benefit the Hitchcock Center, too! Please consider a gift to help support the team - Biothon funds will directly support Hitchcock's year-round environmental education programs. Pledges can be made on a per species basis (10 cents, 25 cents, or a dollar a species), or as a lump sum. Whichever you prefer and whatever amount feels comfortable. You can donate through this registration form, or online at Hitchcock’s website (hitchcockcenter.org).

About This Organizer

Education helps develop a community that understands connections among the human health, ecosystems and economies. The Hitchcock Center connects people with nature and encourages a deeper emotional bond with the natural world that sustains us all.

Founded in 1962, the Hitchcock Center for the Environment fosters awareness and understanding of our environment through programs with a particular focus on children, who live in a world of environmental challenges.

Our educational framework centers on five fundamentals:

  • Understanding principles of ecology
  • Valuing place
  • Promoting resilience
  • Demonstrating sustainability in the built environment
  • Educating for active citizenship
