What's Included

Learn the tricks of the trade! Students will act out myths and folktales from different cultures and become the trickster themselves! By practicing team building, self-expression, and gaining self-confidence, these young actors will transform their bodies and voices to bring fun animal stories to life. Through song, movement, and improvisation, these young tricksters will create unique characters, learn about other cultures, and explore storytelling traditions from all over the world. Family and friends are invited to attend a sharing of our favorite stories on the last day of class. (Due to the Columbus Day weekend, there will be no class on October 11.) INSTRUCTOR BIO: ASHLEY HAMMOND graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.F.A. in Acting. She toured professionally and taught children's theatre for many years, traveling all over the eastern part of the country. She also teaches for the Mount Vernon Community Children's Theatre, John Robert Powers, and the Educational Theatre Company, where she is also the Director of Arts Partnerships.
