NO CLASS OCTOBER 8. Pursue your dream or just try your hand at acting. Acting 1– Realism is the place to start. This course is for beginners. It uses Harold Guskin’s Stop Acting technique of “taking it off the page” -- so popular now In New York and Los Angeles. Many of the great actors employ this technique. Glenn Close and Kevin Kline are examples. The course will begin with monologues provided by the instructor and culminate in commercials and simple two-person scenes. The last class will feature an impromptu showcase. Friends and family are welcome to attend this showcase. Mike will also video tape one of your monologues and give it to you on a thumb drive in converted You Tube format so you can link it to casting directors and agents. Mike will also endeavor to set up an Actors Connection Master Class in New York. This trip will be optional. INSTRUCTOR BIO: MICHAEL BAKER, JR. is a seven-time Emmy Award-winning TV host, reporter and producer. He has also garnered 6 National Telly Awards, 5 Videographer Awards and a Marcom Creative Award. He hosted and produced a talk show on Bravo for six years. Mike has garnered multiple awards for his performances in musical comedy and dramatic theatre. He has worked in New York as an actor and voice over artist and has sung at The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap, and The White House. He has appeared in 30 LTA productions over the years.
