If you love musical theatre, then this dance class is for you. Beginning with a traditional dance warm-up (utilizing ballet and jazz technique), this class will include a dancer's stretch, across-the-floor progressions, and dance combinations choreographed in the style of various Broadway shows. Emphasis will be placed on dancing with style, performing in character, and improving stage presence. This class is open to all levels, but some dance training (ballet or jazz) is preferred. Shoes: Please wear jazz or ballet shoes, or you may wear socks or dance in bare feet. No street shoes, please. INSTRUCTOR BIO: AMY CARSON has been dancing in the Washington, D.C., metro area for 10+ years – much of that time with Jazzdanz/dc, a resident company of Joy of Motion Dance Center.
