Costumes, improvisations, theatre games and scene work provide a fun lighthearted introduction to William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Working collaboratively, under the guidance of Heather Sanderson, campers will cast and perform an abridged version of the play, which will be presented to families and friends at the culmination of the camp. INSTRUCTOR BIO: Heather Sanderson studied with some of the world's finest teachers at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England. Prior to moving to Alexandria, Heather acted extensively in the San Francisco Bay Area, where her acting credits include Rosalind, As You Like It; Maria, Twelfth Night; Lady Capulet, Romeo & Juliet; Rita, Educating Rita; Madge, The Dresser; Gilda, Design for Living. Heather is known locally for instilling a love of Shakespeare into the hearts of children and her students have performed several times at the National Theatre in Washington DC and in England. Heather's extensive knowledge of Shakespeare has been utilized by The English Speaking Union and the Society for Arts and Letters, for whom Heather has served in a judging capacity. Heather may be familiar to fans of British television programs through her Tea with Heather segments on MPTs Afternoon Tea.
