KidsOnStage II is designed for those who have experience at the beginning level, previous stage performance, and are ready for advanced instruction. This class will build on performance skills learned and the process of developing stage characters. Lessons will encourage creativity, teamwork, problem solving, and focus. Students are encouraged to use their imaginations to create alternative to enhance the stage performance. Suggestions include other specialty areas they might include areas such as dance or alternatives to the technical support for the play. Students will perform on the LTA stage in the Spring Showcase on March 27 - 28! (Students must be available for rehearsals during the early evening hours the week of March 23 – 26.) Minimum enrollment requirement of eight students, otherwise this class will be combined with the 10:00 class. INSTRUCTOR BIO: KATHERINE DILLABER graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts (concentration Theatre Arts) and Certification for Secondary Education. After graduation, she worked in the performing arts at Tecumseh in Chillicothe, Ohio; Land of Oz in North Carolina, and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia. She has performed and participated in productions at LTA and other local theatre companies. As an instructor in the Education department at LTA, she has taught every age group and directed numerous children’s productions. Her professional education and theatre positions, combined with years of ballet training (Cecchetti method), are constant resources for classes.
