Five Classes and Three Performances - June 21, 28 and July 12. Building off of the knowledge gained from Levels 1 and 2 you will continue to stretch yourself and increase your versatility in Level 3. You will do this while utilizing all of your skills as an improviser: listening, building ideas, creating and playing characters, developing strong character points of view, etc. Based on character work and scenic game play, this level aims to gently push you forward as you go far deeper into all aspects of scene work. You will also develop skills to focus on what is going on between the characters in “the moment" created. In this level the teacher takes on the role of director, working with you and your classmates to help you create three shows based on short form games. This level includes 5 class/rehearsals with 3 improv performances at LTA for a total of 8 sessions. Class size limited to 12 students. INSTRUCTOR BIOS: KEELY KIRK (Improv II) performed for over ten years with Laughing Gas – Miami, Florida's, longest running improv theater company. She then moved to Chicago, where she was involved with IO (formally Improv Olympics) and Second City. Currently she also performs around the country and conducts team-building workshops using the principles of improv.
