LTA is thrilled to announce our new Home School Program! Youngsters will enjoy bringing Fables, Folktales and Legends to life in a safe, nurturing, creative environment. Classes also include theatre games, improvisation activities and an opportunity to perform on the stage of the oldest award-winning theatre in the Washington metro area. We will use scripted materials from classic stories such as The Fisherman's Wife, which the children can take home and memorize. They will also be given the opportunity to create their own versions of classic children's literature, 'twisting' the stories around as they see fit. An assortment of costumes, props and accessories are provided each week. The children will also get a behind the scenes look at a working theatre. Once a show concludes at LTA, the set build begins for the next show. Seeing the stage change every week and seeing what goes into making a set come to life is very interesting. At the end of the session, the children will perform for their families and friends. INSTRUCTOR BIO: HEATHER SANDERSON studied with some of the world's finest teachers at RADA in London.
