Learn the power of “Yes, and”, and strengthen your listening skills. We will teach you how to agree while we use improv building blocks to create stories, characters, and group narrative. You and your children will learn: agreement, getting rid of conflict, building confidence, finding your own voice, creating story/narrative, recognizing and using emotions, and physicality as communication. No experience necessary! INSTRUCTOR BIO: KEELY KIRK began her improv career with Mental Floss, a Miami-based improv troupe which performed at the Coconut Grove Playhouse. She went on to be a principle performer for 10+ years with Laughing Gas - Miami's longest running improv theatre company. She relocate to Chicago, the epicenter for improv, and was involved with iO (formerly Improv Olympics) and Second City. Keely is also the “Chief Improviser” at Playing Outside the Lines a local company which develops and delivers fun, fast-paced, interactive training and events using theater improvisation techniques. INSTRUCTOR BIO: JOHN WALDRON received a B.F.A. in theatre from Virginia Commonwealth University. He teaches and directs classes, workshops and camps throughout NOVA. He directed Bugsy Malone and The Trials of Robin Hood for ACCT. He has performed with Classika/ Synetic, Adventure Theatre and at The Kennedy Center, National Theatre, and The International Theatre Festival in Sibiu Romania. John was in the feature film Talk to Me and the short film Techfellas and is the production manager for Murder Upon Request.
