About This Activity

Bosque Running Shop Inc. would like to invite you to experience the 4th Annual Rio Grande Half Marathon and 5K run/walk. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics New Mexico. All half marathon participants will receive a finishers medal.

Regular and Late Registration

Regular Registrants (July 1st through August 8th) will receive a 100% cotton shirt. Registrants at packet pick-up and race day (August 9 - 11th) will NOT be guaranteed a shirt. registration closes Thursday, August 8th at midnight Pacific time. Registration after that date can be done during packet pick-up or on race day until 6am.

Packet Pick-Up

Friday, August 9th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm and Saturday, August 10th from 11:00am - 5:00pm at Bosque Running Shop located at COORS & MONTANO 6001 Winterhaven Dr NW Suite I Albuquerque, NM 87120. Race Day Packet Pick-up at the National Hispanic Cultural Center Sunday, August 11th from 5:30am - 6:00am

Free Kids K Run

All Kids K participants will run for free. (A $5 charge will apply to only those wishing to receive a race t-shirt). If you don't want a t-shirt, no need to register. Just show up and a bib number will be distributed to your little athlete.

Awards Ceremony

There will be an awards table where medals will be distributed for those who cannot wait for the awards ceremony. The ceremony will award the overall top three women and men in the half marathon and 5K run, and top three in the age group awards. There will also be a lucky draw where random bib numbers are drawn for various prizes. Top 3 Male and Female Age Group Division Awards as follows: 14 & under, 15 - 19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65+

A Great Cause

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics New Mexico, which provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with mental challenges (intellectual disabilities), giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
