What's Included

Writing Workshops!  From Fairytales to Fantasies, Fiction to True Stories, writing classes will take those wonderful ideas percolating in your students' heads and help them put them down on paper.  From Fairy Tales to Fantasies: this workshop will use fairytales as a starting point for writing plot summaries, and then expand them into descriptive fantasy scenes that are so vivid they can be acted out.  The focus will be on creating exciting plots and lively dialogue using specific sensory details that make your story come alive.  Extreme Writing: from fiction, true stories, poems, letters, nonfiction narratives, descriptions and plays, students will learn to take cool ideas in their heads and plays, students will learn to take cool ideas in their heads and transform them into written works.

The Alameda Education Foundation (AEF) is made up of parents, educators, business leaders and members of the community. A vital force in the community since 1982, AEF supports educational excellence in Alameda public schools by providing funds, materials, volunteer resources and program coordination to supplement the opportunities available in our schools.
