We are doing things a little different this year...Adventures in Midtown will be the kick off event on Friday, Saturday you have time to recover and Sunday it's time to RACE!
Friday:
You don't have to be a racer to participate in Adventures in Midtown! Friday's kick off is for anyone who wants to join in the fun...stop by the AFAR Welcome Tent to grab a passport and map! Venues throughout the area will have live music, contests, and food/drink specials. It is a chance to enjoy a fun night out and experience all that the area has to offer.
Sunday:
Abandoned Fields will be rogaine style meaning you get as many checkpoints as you can in any order you choose during the time limit. Therefore, this race can be as difficult or as straight forward as you want it to be (Think: choose your own ending books)! Each team is given a map with clues and a compass. You must then navigate the terrain to find the most check point markers in the least amount of time. Its a journey of exciting challenges, harebrained obstacles, a few mud stains andplenty of curious moments along the way! Trust us, you can do this
Not quite ready to venture out on the race course? We won't leave you out. Throughout the event on Sunday our "Base Camp" will be set up to entertain those friends, families and curious bystanders. Cheer on the racers as they battle the obstacle course or challenge yourself with some of our interactive exhibits.
Bring the gang out, throw down a blanket and some grub from the food trucks for a fun filled picnic! You can also check out the local and regional businesses, vendors, and organizations showcasing what they have to offer the community. The goal is to shed light on the many, often overlooked attributes that make Tallahassee a unique, diverse and appealing place to live, both during college and after graduation.
