Want to be an adventure racer, but not sure where to start? Or maybe you have done some races and would like to improve your performance. Or you may have no interest in adventure racing, but would love to have some real outdoor adventure with like minded people for a weekend.
This Outdoor Adventure Retreat will cover class and field time in: ropes (rapelling and climbing), trail running, mountain biking, orienteering, adventure race strategy, training and nutrition programs + a 4 hr Adventure Race on the last morning. Registration includes: 2 nights Lodging or Tent (provided), all meals, watercraft/ropes/navigation supplies rental, insurance and more! See the tentative schedule below.
All ability levels are welcome! Don't worry if you are registering without a friend/family member--there are plenty of others who will be doing the same. This will be a fun group atmosphere and everyone will be on a "team"! Meals provided offer vegetarian option.
All instruction will be done by Charmion Harris with Lake Adventures--avid adventure racer, event director, mountain biker, climber, paddler, navigator and trail runner.
Event schedule and times
4/13 (2:00pm Arrival) Navigation, adventure race strategy, paddling class and field/water time. Supper (Vegetarian or traditional lasagna, salad, bread). Class-training, nutrition & gear. 4/14 Trail Run. Yoga (stretching/injury prevention). Breakfast (fresh fruit, bagels, yogurt, oatmeal, cereal). Ropes class/practice. Lunch (sandwiches, vegetables, cookies). Mtn bike intro/ride. Plot maps/strategy. Supper (Veggie/Turkey burgers, sweet potatoes, salad). 4/15 Breakfast & Adv Race.
