Description
The Hare Racing Experience is a family-oriented event held at the University of South Florida on the day before Easter. The event has grown during the past three years with 700 participants coming to the 2011 event. After the event, they enjoyed provided by Panera Bread, DoubleTree Guest-Suites-Tampa Bay, Einstein Bagels and Sam's Club. The kids come meet and get a picture with the Easter Bunny and Ronald McDonald. At the end, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each standard age group (9 & under to 75+) receive an award.
All the money raised goes to sending kids with epilepsy living in West Central Florida to Camp Boggy Creek. Two of the co-founders of this medical-friendly camp are General Norman Schwarzkopf and the late Paul Newman.
