Description
Support the Red Bluff PD K9 unit in a duathlon or 5k run starting at the Sherman Ranch in the Payne's Creek Recreation Area just north of Red Bluff. There will be two duathlon distances and a 5k run/walk event. A mountain bike and appropriate cycling helmet are mandatory equipment for the duathlons.
Short Course Duathlon- a 2 mile run, 4 mile mountain bike, 2 mile run on mostly flat beginner trails and roads. This course will take you along Bass Pond Trail and over the Wetlands, then past Coyote Pond and back to the Sherman Ranch.
Long Course Duathlon and relay- the runs will be the same 2 mile loop as the short course. The ride will start the same, following the Bass Pond and wetland trails then turn onto some more technical terrain toward Perry Riffle. There will be some rocky sections and several short steep climbs.
The relay will be a 2-person team with 1 doing both running legs and the other doing the mountain bike.
5k run- this run will follow the start of the mountain bike leg up Bass Pond Trail then back along the road to the ranch.
