The Third Annual Rubick Run is set for Saturday, August 6th! Former Green Bay Packer Don Davey is once again hosting the 5K Rubick Run/Walk to honor former Manitowoc Lincoln High School football coach Ron Rubick. Ron coached the Ships for 32 years before passing in 2009 due to complications from cancer. In just three years, the Rubick Run has become the Lakeshore's signature summertime fitness event.
The Rubick Run will begin at Lincoln High School, run along the beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline, and finish at Rubick Field, the site of so many of Ron's victories with the Ships. And for anyone looking for a running alternative, we have added the "County Fair with Coach Pete Holm" option for 2011. Coach Pete Holm will be replicating Coach Rubick's favorite football conditioning drills...Bear Crawls, Push Ups, Sit Ups, 30 30s, and more...right on Rubick Field! Those of us who have endured Ron's County Fair know full well how grueling it is. Come out and challenge yourself with the workout of a lifeitme!
