Description
Date, Time, and Place: Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 9 am. Registration, race start, and post-race activities at West High School on Tobler Lane in the Bearden/Sequoyah Hills area. DOGS MUST BE ON LEASHES for Dog Jog/Walk.
Course Description and Highlights: USATF Course # TN08085MS. The 5K course is an out and back scenic route eastward from West High School along Third Creek Greenway with a loop turnaround going on Painter Avenue to Concord and back the greenway. The 2 Mile Walk/Dog Jog route goes westward from West High School along Third Creek Greenway to Forest Heights Road then returning along the greenway.
Registration and Entry Fees: Early Registration is $20 for the 5K through March 26, 2010. KTC and Knox Greenway Coalition Members receive $5 discount during early registration only. Late and Race Day Registration is $25 for the 5K. Fee is $15 anytime for the 2 Mile Walk/Dog Jog. No discounts apply on race day. No t-shirt - deduct $5.
Awards: Awards to the top 3 overall male and female, top Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), and Veterans (60+) for male and female. Awards to the top Clydesdale (male 200+ lbs) and Athena (female 150+ lbs). Age Divisions: 14 and Under, 15 - 19, 20 - 24, 25 - 29, 30 - 34, 35 - 39, 40 - 44, 45 - 49, 50 - 54, 55 - 59, 60 - 64, 65 - 69, 70 - 74, 75 - 79, 80 - 84, 85+. Overall winners not eligible for age division awards (three deep). Awards must be picked up on race day. They will be available at Runners Market at Western Plaza for pick-up on Monday, April 5, 2010. Awards will not be mailed.
Grand Prix: This race is part of the KTC 2010 Grand Prix Series. To be eligible for Gran Prix awards, participants must be KTC Members and must volunteer at least 3 times during the year at a KTC function.
Race Etiquette: Due to insurance regulations, rollers blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the 5K course. Headphones are strongly discouraged on the 5K course. Dogs must be on leashes for the 2 Mile Dog Jog.
