Description

Family Fun!! - The Viking Challenge is a 5K extreme wilderness mud run in the beautiful Otter Tail County Lakes area in Northwestern Minnesota. The course has 13 natural obstacles, lots of mud, and runs through trails in the woods, meadows and over 300 acres of The Viking Challenge course. The event features music, food, and an extreme wilderness challenge for all ages and ability levels. And did we say there was lots of mud??? Prepare to get dirty, and donate your shoes when you are done to Greensneakers. Shower area, food vendors, live music including Weathered Wood, "Battle of the Bands" WInner, and The Big Wu. Seperate concert entrance attendance is available. All participants and spectators can stay for the concerts, bonfire, and activities after the race at no additional charge.


Men & Women, individuals and teams run on Saturday morning starting at 9:00 AM.


Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 pm waves, "FAMILY & CO-ED RUN" - for all ages. Families must register as a family team and signup for the waves beginning at 3:00 pm or later. Family teams must stay together through the entire course and complete the run together. Family teams must have at least one parent (over 21 and legal guardian) register as the team captain, and parents must stay with their children throughout the entire course to the finish.


Saturday evening following the last flight of runners, there will be a concert, food, bon fire a great festival atmosphere. Camping & lodging is available at area hotels, motels, and lake resorts. Some of the most beautiful biking, fishing and fishing, along with Maplewood State Park, is availalable throughout the 1,000 plus lakes area in Otter Tail County.
