Description
This is the 8th annual "Run for Hope" and the 1st on Thanksgiving Day. This years race is in the beautiful Terrabella Village subdivision in Covington . The scenic course winds through the woods and around lakes before finishing in the heart of Terrabella Village . Unique this year is the commemorative LONG SLEEVE T-SHIRTS to all pre-registered entrants. Come out and enjoy a great time for the family and burn off some calories before the big Thanksgiving meal.
Run for Hope honors Vince Lombardo, a nonsmoker and 18-year lung cancer survivor who succumbed to the disease in January 2004. Vince worked on the MD Anderson Steering Committee for 15 years, providing hope and encouragement to fellow cancer patients (MD Anderson is our charity). Vince's motto was "NEVER DEPRIVE SOMEONE OF HOPE, IT MAY BE ALL THEY HAVE". The Lombardo family has sponsored this fun run for the past 8 years.
AWARDS:
1 Mile: Overall Male and Female; 1st, 2nd place in age groups 5-under, 6-7,
8-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-16 (male & female).
AWARDS:
5K: Overall Male & Female; Master
T-SHIRTS:
T-Shirts will be given out to all pre-registered entrants on the day of the
race. Entrants registered after November 11th are not guaranteed sizes and
may have to pick up shirt two weeks after race should shirts run out.
