** REMINDER ***
Sunday, November 25 is the last day to order a race shirt for race day.
If you miss this deadline, contact Kyle (firstname.lastname@example.org). If there is sufficient interest, we'll make a second order after race day.
Fun for both you and your 4-legged friends
About the event
The Dog's Life 5k is a fundraiser for Kyle Stearns' Eagle Scout Project. The money raised will be used to fund the construction of a memorial garden at the National Mill Dog Rescue (NMDR) in Peyton, CO.
NMDR is a non-profit organization that rescues dogs from "puppy mill" breeders, who typically destroy their "breeding stock" after they have outlived their usefulness. NMDR rehabilitates these dogs and finds them homes. You can learn more about NMDR at www.milldogrescue.org.
Unfortunately, not all of the rescued dogs survive. The Memorial Garden will be a place for volunteers to grieve and reflect, and will serve to remind visitors of NMDR's mission.
After material donations, this project will cost $1,500 to $2,000. Any excess funds raised at this event will be donated to NMDR.
If you would like to volunteer for construction of the memorial garden can contact Kyle at email@example.com. The project will be scheduled after funds are raised, and when the weather permits. It may be as soon as December 15.
Park in either the main lot off Dublin Ave. or in the secondary lot off Montarbor.
The gathering spot will be near the restrooms on the south side of the park. This restroom will be closed, but we will have a port-a-john.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Portable port-a-johns (bags) will be available for them.
Finishing snacks will be available for both 4-legged and 2-legged participants. We will not be awarding prizes, but we will run an informal "prediction" contest for those who need a little competition.
