Please join us for Shula's Run for Ovarian Cancer 5K Run/walk and youth 100 yard dash fundraiser on Sunday, March 18th, 2012 at Tradewinds Park!
This past June, a very close friend of ours, Jennifer Shula, was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. Small cell carcinoma is a very rare and severe form of ovarian cancer. There are only 300 reported cases of small cell carcinoma in the United States. She is our inspiration for this event.
Jennifer is only 25 years old. Prior to her diagnosis, Jennifer led a normal, active life-- going out with her friends, traveling, and studying to become a nurse. Since her diagnosis, Jennifer has had to undergo several rounds of chemotherapy. Because of the chemotherapy and now radiation, Jennifer has had to reevaluate and drastically change her life.
Despite her illness and the turmoil that has accompanied it, Jennifer has shown unwavering strength in the face of uncertainty. Jennifer is truly an inspiring individual that keeps fighting her illness with a smile on her face. Jennifers voice is one of thousands of ovarian cancer victims that deserve to be heard. Together, we can make a difference in ovarian cancer victims lives by raising money for research and providing support to tell them they are not alone.

We believe that Shulas Run for Ovarian Cancer will raise money for a cure and provide support for ovarian cancer victims and show how important and precious life truly is.
