Description
On August 27, 2011 at 9:00am at the Diversey Harbor in Lincoln Park you can boogey your way along a 5K course in an effort to help a great cause and have fun with your friends. The race area is between Lincoln Park Zoo parking lot and the Diversey Harbor parking lot. For the first time, Guaranteed Rate (a nationwide mortgage company corporately located in Chicago) will be partnering with The Peapod Project (an organization that is currently in place at Childrens Memorial Hospital that is dedicated to supporting and guiding families who find themselves in the tragic situation of losing a child) in an effort to raise money and party it up to the max. This is a CARA authorized event. The course is USATF certified (IL-04061-JW) and will be professionally timed using Chronotrack disposable chips. The proceeds will go towards keepsake memory boxes for suffering families.
After you've worked up a sweat, you'll have the chance to cool off at the post race disco party! The festivities will go until 3pm and will offer live music, food, drinks, a raffle, prizes for the top fundraiser and a medal presentation for the overall male and female winners.
Now young man (and woman!) go and register for the race and get ready to get down.
