Description
The 2nd annual Ridge Trail Festival will be held Saturday October 8th, 2011 at Redwood Park in Arcata and in Willow Creek, CA on Sunday October 9th, 2011. The Festival is designed to bring together the community in support of the Arcata Ridge Trail, a multi-user trail that will connect the southern and northern parts of Arcata through the Arcata Community Forest. This project highlights the best of Humboldt County; a widely supported public/private partnership to protect open space, provide recreational access for multiple user groups (hikers, bikers, equestrians) and ensure long-term resource conservation indefinitely. The festival will feature a full day of events including: a beer festival featuring local breweries, local bands and a local food BBQ; vendor booths, bicycle demos, a mtn. bike learning center, and kids ride, Citizens Fun Ride and 5k run/walk, X-Country and Super D Mtn. Bike races. This is a USA Cycling event, but one day licenses are available. To make the day even better 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Arcata Ridge Trail project.
