Description
In conjunction with Earth Day Celebration, the City of Anderson is hosting a competitive biathlon and 5K Fun Run/Walk. The competitive biathlon will be a 5K run coupled with a 10 mile bicycle ride. Running will take place on a paved trail within the Shadyside Recreation Area and bicycling will take place on-road, part of the Lenape Bikeway. The competitive race will start at 9:00am. This is not a sanctioned event, but will follow the rules and regulations set forth by USA Triathlon for such events. The Fun Run/Walk will be a 5K distance on a paved trail within Shadyside Recreation Area. The Fun Run/Walk will not be timed and is meant to encourage families to participate together. The Fun Run/Walk will start after the competitive biathlon. Parking will be available throughout the Shadyside Recreation Area please refer to the race website for maps of parking areas. Staging for both events will be at the Shadyside Recreation Area Activity Center.
