Description
This trail 10K starts & finishes on the Powhatan HS track. The course is a mix of flat, packed dirt paths & sizable rolling hills. After winding through the woods & fields of Powhatan, the scenic trail loops around a large country lake & Christmas Tree Farm. Race proceeds go to the Powhatan Christmas Mother to help less-fortunate families during the holidays and to charity groups & athletic programs at PHS. Thanks for entering as an Individual or on a Team.
Start Time: The 10k will start at 9 am and the awards & raffle banquet will end around noon.
Timing: Chip timing & wave starts. This year you can choose any wave you like on race day.
Course Maps: Available on the site listed above.
Awards: Trophies & 3SPORTS gift cards for overall winners. Trophies for top 3 males & females in each age group.
Age Groups: 0-14, 15-19, 20-25, 26-31, 32-37, 38-42, 43-48, 49-55, 56-60, 61-65, 66-71, 72 & up.
Team Option: Unlimited team size. Team registrants can mail in forms or register online. The team can mail in their forms together & inlcude 1 group payment. No online group payment option is available though. Your team captain will need to go online first & select "create a team." Then team members can enter & select "join a team." If your team captain creates a password, you will need to know it in order to join.
Team Awards: Top 3 finishers on each team score. Plaques for top 6 teams (2 female, 2 male, 2 coed) with the lowest cumulative times.
Dri-fit t-shirts: The first 250 runners will receive dri-fit race shirts. All other participants will get cotton shirts.
Cost: $25 if received before 12/2, $30 after 12/2 & on race day.
Packet pickup:
- Thursday, 12/6 (4pm-7pm) at 3SPORTS (6241 River Road, Richmond, VA 23229
- Friday, 12/7 (4pm-6pm) at Powhatan HS (see event web site for directions)
Race capacity: 500 participants. Race-day entry & packet pick-up will be available.
Expectations: To kick off the Christmas season with 6.2 miles of chilly trails.
