Description
The NCO Spring Ahead 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run sponsored by Calamos Investments, the corner of Rt. 59 & Ferry, in Naperville, on Sunday, April 18, 2010 and benefits NCO Youth & Family Services.
The Kids Fun Run begins at 8:00a, 10K at 8:15a, 5K wheelchair at 8:25a and the 5K run
at 8:30a .
Race day registration and packet pick-up begins at 6:30a ending at 7:45a NO TRAFFIC ALLOWED on the Calamos Investments Campus AFTER 6:00a. ROADS CLOSE at 7:30a. Ample parking is available on site behind the Hotel Arista after 6:30a
PACKET PICKUP
Packet pickup will be available on race day from 6:30-7:30 a. and on Saturday, April 10, 2010 from 11:00a - 4:00p at the Naperville Running Company (34 West Jefferson, downtown Naperville, and Thursday, April 15th from 3:00p - 8:00p at the Naperville Running Company (34 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville)
KIDS FUN RUN
The number of participants for the Kids Fun Run is open. Begins and ends at the entrance of the Calamos Investments. The course is flat, and the distance will be one mile
5K COURSE
The number of participants for the 5K is open. Begins and ends at the entrance of the Calamos Investments. The course is a flat, 5K route with the turn-around being in front of the Tellabs Headquarters in Naperville. This is a USATF certified route.
10K COURSE
The 10K race will be limited to the first 500 registrants. The course begins and ends at the entrance of Calamos Investments. The first and last 1 1/2 mile is on the street. The main route runs through McDowell Grove. The course is through forest, prairie and near a river. The trails are dirt, grass and crushed limestone. Expect exposed tree roots and other natural obstacles. A portion of the course is a loop plus a down and back portion along the river.
Please NO dogs, strollers bicycles, in-line skates, roller skates or scooters are allowed on the 10K route. Strollers will be allowed on the 5K street run.
CHIP TIMED RACE:
The race will be chip timed. Each participant will be issued a timing chip.
AWARDS:
The overall 1st place male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K will receive $100 cash prize money. The overall winner in the Wheelchair Race will also receive $100 cash prize. For the Kids Fun Run the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups will receive a prize. Age groups are as follow: 5 and under, 6-10, 11-12. For the 5K and 10K, the top 3 male and female finishers in the following age groups will receive a prize. Age groups are as follows: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & older. Overall male and female winners are removed from the age categories. All participants are eligible to win a raffle prize at the conclusion of the race.
T-SHIRTS:
All PRE-REGISTERED runners will receive a long sleeve t-shirt. T-shirts will be available for race day registrants ONLY WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.
